Site’s history: Pary IV - the seeds have been planted
The first entry in the game of “define the words” was “discreetly”: “u suck!” and a bit later “u suck and you do it discreetly!” Encouraging, isn’t it? But at least it did show the system works! After that there was a pause and then whole hell break loose: enlarge your thing, wesite ads, urls and other junk got here quick.
Okay, now I needed to do something about the trolls and I’ve quickly made a auto and manual moderation systems. The auto- one watches for urls and stupid changes (like adding 1 letter to other text) or cut-and-paste behavior which spammers got to quickly (overwriting hundreds of great quotes in minutes with “get your thing big www.my-thing-is-big-site.com” and stuff like that).
So, now the site is spam-free? Long from it. But manual system is in place to delete blatant spam and I’ve added a few features which actually encourages people to write stuff about their own site cause — the more they write — the more links they get.
I also implemented a global message system to show people what’s happening on site as a whole on all 100 of millions of pages, cause right now chances that two people actually would see a change on the same page — are zero.
So, I have seeded the initial ideas into the site like “youtube: the king of video”, “even: let’s get even”, and that’s probably all that left from my seeds on google.com’s page a day later. And now the real crowd-wisdom has come! I have never expected that amount of fun stuff arrive on site. I expected spam, accusations and other, but you guys are fun!
